WARRIORS KNOCK OFF NO. 2 JOHN A. LOGAN

Mattoon, IL – No. 11 Indian Hills Men's Basketball knocked off No. 2 John A. Logan College in a thrilling matchup at the Lake Land Classic, 76-74 Tuesday night. The Warriors improve to 6-2 with their second win over a ranked opponent this season.

The Warriors built an early lead in the first half and held a 33-32 edge at the halftime break over the Volunteers, but John A. Logan came out firing to open the second half with a 15-5 run. Indian Hills responded with a 19-0 run of its own to regain the lead. Two of the top teams in the nation put on a show the rest of the way and with the score tied at 74 all, J'Vonne Hadley (St. Paul, MN/Northeastern) drove the lane and converted the eventual game-winner. A defensive stand in the final seconds lifted the Warriors to its biggest win of the season.

Sophomore Isaiah Marin (Phoenix, AZ/New Mexico) put together his best performance of the season with 16 points while going 5-5 from three free throw line. Freshman Eddiean Tirado (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Miami Triple Threat) continued to score at will, pouring in 15 points while connecting on five three-point shots. Braxton Bayless (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny) added 13 points for the Warriors.

Indian Hills relied on a bevy of reserves to limit the Volunteers in the paint, including Leeroy Odiahi (Tralee, Ireland/George Harris) who contributed his best performance of the season. Enoch Kalambay came off the bench to add eight points for the Warriors.

Indian Hills is back in action at the Lake Land Classic against perennial power Vincennes University at 1:00 PM Wednesday afternoon.
