STREAKING WARRIORS JUMP TO NO. 8

Ottumwa, IA – After three convincing wins last week, the Indian Hills Men's Basketball team climbed three spots in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball rankings to No. 8 overall. The 8-2 Warriors are the highest ranked DI team in the state of Iowa.

After slipping to No. 11 in the national rankings following a pair of early season losses, the Warriors responded in a dominant way this past week with three victories in the state of Illinois. Indian Hills scored its biggest win of the season with a 76-74 victory over No. 2 John A. Logan College at the Mattoon Classic in Mattoon, IL. J'Vonne Hadley's (St. Paul, MN/Minneapolis) bucket in the closing seconds secured the win for the Warriors.

Indian Hills followed up Tuesday's signature victory with a win over tradition-rich Vincennes University (IN), dropping the Trailblazers 68-40. Sophomore Taj Anderson (Queens, NY/Quality Education) erupted for 31 points, including nine three-point shots in the second half.

The Warriors closed out the week in Dixon, IL with a 68-54 victory at Sauk Valley Community College as the Warriors used a fast start to take down the Skyhawks for its third victory in four days.

John A. Logan slipped to No. 5 in the rankings while Southeastern Community College, the second Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) member in the national rankings, checks in at No. 17.

Indian Hills is set to take on Highland Community College (IL) at 7:00 PM Saturday night at the Hellyer Center.
