MARIN NAMED ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – Isaiah Marin's (Phoenix, AZ/New Mexico) all-around effort in three victories last week has led to this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week honor. Marin helped the Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad go 3-0 and jump to No. 8 in the national rankings.

Marin served as the team's primary point guard in all three wins for the Warriors last week – a signature upset over No. 2 John A. Logan College (IL) and a 28-point victory over Vincennes University (IN) at the Mattoon Classic in Mattoon, IL followed by a 14-point victory at Sauk Valley Community College (IL) on Saturday. The Warriors are now 8-2 overall.

Marin's efforts were felt from all angles last week as the sophomore averaged 8.7 points per game, 8.0 assists per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, and a pair of steals per contest. Marin's career-high 16 points came in the upset win over John A. Logan and went 5-5 from the free throw line. Marin also collected his first-career double-double in the victory with a season-high 10 rebounds.

Marin managed the tempo in the win over Vincennes, collecting a season-best 10 assists to just two turnovers in the victory while collecting four steals. The Phoenix native wrapped up the week with eight more assists and five rebounds in the win over Sauk Valley.

Marin and the Warriors return to the Hellyer Center for a nonconference matchup at 7:00 PM Saturday vs. Highland Community College (IL).
