TIRADO, KALAMBAY NAMED TO FAB 50 LIST

Ottumwa, IA – A pair of freshmen for the Indian Hills Men's Basketball team have been named to the Fab 50 JUCO Freshmen list, announced by JucoRecruiting.com. Enoch Kalambay (Gatineau, Canada/Orangeville Prep) and Eddiean Tirado (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Miami Triple Threat) were named to the prestigious list.

With the selection, both Kalambay and Tirado have received invitations to the All-American JUCO Showcase in Atlanta, GA on July 8-10. The showcase serves as the top event for 2023 junior college prospects. The invite-only event attracts over 300 four-year college coaches during the NCAA's July Live Period.

Kalambay, who also earned an invitation to the JUCO Advocate 48 Showcase in Las Vegas, NV in July, has appeared in all 21 games for the Warriors this year, making 15 starts on the season. The freshman is currently averaging 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Kalambay has scored in double-figures in eight of the team's last 11 games and was named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 6 – Dec. 12.

Tirado has served as one of the Warriors' top three-point threats on the year, connecting on 60 shots from beyond the arc which ranks eighth in the nation. Tirado, who is averaging 10.5 points per game on the year, hit a school record nine three-point shots on Nov. 13 and has connected on at least four three's in a game seven times this season.

The Warriors are just one of five schools to have at least two freshmen represented on the Fab 50 JUCO list and the only school from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) to have a representative.

Indian Hills (16-5, 1-1), ranked No. 12 in the JUCO Media Poll and No. 16 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI poll return to action Saturday night vs. Kankakee Community College (IL) at 7:00 PM at the Hellyer Center. Saturday's contest is a part of the Indian Hills Hall of Fame night where eight individuals will be recognized.
