WARRIORS CLIP SKYHAWKS AT HOME

Ottumwa, IA – No. 15 Indian Hills Men's Basketball collected its fourth consecutive win on Wednesday night with an 80-59 victory over Sauk Valley Community College (IL) at the Hellyer Center. The Warriors were led by sophomore Taj Anderson's (Queens, NY/Quality Education) 19 points.

Taking on the Skyhawks for the second time this season, Indian Hills used a 17-point advantage in the second half to roll past the visitors. After 12 first half turnovers, the Warriors limited the miscues in the final 20 minutes to just five. The Warriors nearly doubled up the Skyhawks in the rebounding battle with a 52-27 advantage.

Anderson connected on five three-point shots to lead Indian Hills as the sophomore scored 12 of his 19 in the second half alone. Sophomore J'Vonne Hadley (St. Paul, MN/Northeastern), the two-time reigning Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Athlete of the Week, scored 17 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Davin Zeigler (Cleveland, OH/Bowling Green) added nine points and a team-high six assists while Adetokunbo Bakare (Newark, NJ/NJIT) and Ahren Freeman (Jacksonville, FL/New Orleans) chipped in eight points apiece.

After earning a 14-point victory at Sauk Valley on Nov. 27, the Warriors welcomed the Skyhawks to the Hellyer Center for the first time in program history. The visitors kept the first half interesting by forcing a number of Warrior turnovers. Leading by just two with under two minutes to play in the half, Anderson converted a bucket and Bakare drained a three-point shot to lift Indian Hills to a 35-31 halftime lead.

Anderson caught fire to open the second half, connecting on three three-point shots in the first four minutes of play to push the Warriors to a double-digit lead. The Warriors continued their efficient attack the rest of the way, finishing the second half 17-34 from the field, including seven three-point shots.

Indian Hills travels to Highland Community College on Saturday afternoon for a nonconference date with the Cougars. Tipoff is set for 3:00 PM in Freeport, IL.
