FREEMAN NAMED ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Ahren Freeman (Jacksonville, FL/New Orleans) led No. 6/3 Indian Hills Men's Basketball with a team-high 18 points in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Championship game. For his efforts, Freeman has been named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Athlete of the Week.

Making his first start in 12 contests, Freeman poured in 18 points on 7-11 shooting to pace the Warriors on Saturday night at the Hellyer Center. Freeman's game-high helped Indian Hills secure the NJCAA Region XI Championship with an 85-72 victory over No. 13 Southeastern Community College.

Freeman finished the night 3-3 from the free throw line and went 1-2 from beyond the arc. The sophomore added five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the victory.

Freeman and the Warriors now host the NJCAA North Central District Championship at 7:00 PM Saturday night in the Hellyer Center against Dawson Community College.
