Ottumwa, IA – A 30-point performance in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) North Central District Championship game has led to Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors for sophomore Taj Anderson of the Indian Hills Men's Basketball team.

Anderson's effort, one point shy of a career-high, helped lead the Warriors to the District title with a 115-99 win over Dawson Community College (MT) on Saturday night. The win gave Indian Hills an automatic berth to the upcoming NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship in Hutchinson, KS where the Warriors earned the No. 7 seed and will play Tuesday, March 15 at 8:30 PM.

Anderson, facing Dawson in a District title game for the second time in his career at Indian Hills, ignited the offense with 18 first half points. After a scoreless effort against the Bucs a year ago, Anderson finished the night with 30 points on 10-18 shooting, including 8-15 from three-point range.

The first-team NJCAA All-Region XI selection will enter the national tournament with a team-high average of 12.9 points per game and has made 77 three-point shots on the year. Anderson currently ranks fifth all-time for the Warriors with 135 career three-point shots made.

Anderson becomes the seventh different Warrior to collect ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors for head coach Hank Plona's squad this year.
