WARRIORS RANKED NO. 5 IN FIRST REGULAR SEASON POLL

NJCAA DI MEN'S BASKETBALL POLL - WEEK 1

Ottumwa, IA – After a 3-0 start to the season, the Indian Hills Men's Basketball team has checked in at No. 5 in the first regular season National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball Poll.

After entering the preseason poll at No. 3, the Warriors fell two spots despite the undefeated start to the year. The Warriors received 297 points in the poll as voted on by the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Committee.

The Warriors have picked up victories over three NJCAA DI programs to open the season, including a thrilling 88-87 overtime victory over Dodge City Community College (KS) that saw sophomore Don McHenry (Milwaukee, WI/Hawaii-Hilo) hit a buzzer beater in the season opener.

Indian Hills also swept through the RV & Power Sports Classic at the Hellyer Center over the weekend with a 79-68 victory against Cloud County Community College (KS) and a 108-48 thrashing of Independence Community College (KS) on Saturday.

Five different individuals are currently averaging in double-figures for the Warriors, led by sophomore Truth Harris' (Mount Vernon, NY/ Pensacola) 13.3 points per contest. McHenry is averaging 12.3 points per game while Enoch Kalambay (Gatineau, Canada/Orangeville Prep), Kiran Oliver (Chicago, IL/New Mexico State), and Eddiean Tirado (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Miami Triple Threat) are each averaging 11.0 points over the team's first three games.

Northwest Florida State continued to hold the top spot in the national poll. The Raiders are set to take on Indian Hills at the Hellyer Center on November 16.

The Warriors' next opponent, John A. Logan (IL) jumped from unranked to No. 12 in the national poll following a 2-0 start on the year. Indian Hills will travel to Carterville, IL to take on the Volunteers at 7:00 PM on November 9.
