WARRIORS RANKED NO. 6 IN LATEST NJCAA POLL

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Basketball team checked in at No. 6 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball poll, announced by the national men's basketball committee Monday afternoon.

The Warriors (23-3, 4-0) posted a 1-1 record last week. After dropping a 76-75 contest on the road to Missouri State University – West Plains, the Warriors bounced back in a big way with an 81-50 win over Marshalltown Community College on Saturday night. The win over the Tigers capped an undefeated Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) season for Indian Hills after sweeping the season series over both Marshalltown and Southeastern Community College.

The Warriors used a barrage of three-point shots to run past the Tigers on Saturday. Indian Hills connected on 16 three-point shots, tying a season-high while shooting 48.5 percent from beyond the arc. Seven different individuals hit at least one three-point shot in the win.

Sophomore Don McHenry (Milwaukee, WI/Hawaii-Hilo) averaged 17.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game in the team's two games last week. Enoch Kalambay (Gatineau, Canada/Orangeville Prep) added 10.5 points and 8.5 rebounds for the Warriors.

The Warriors were one of four top-six teams from a week ago to slip in the national rankings. The Warriors, who received 278 points in this week's poll, is 8-2 on the year vs. teams currently ranked or receiving votes in the national poll, including two wins against current top-10 teams.

Indian Hills returns to the Hellyer Center on Wednesday night to host Carl Sandburg College (IL) in a non-league tilt. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM as part of Alumni Appreciation Night.
