NO. 13 WARRIORS RUN PAST BLUE DEVILS AT HOME

Ottumwa, IA – A second half surge powered the No. 13 ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball team to its largest victory of the year, dropping Kansas City Kansas Community College 96-71 at the Hellyer Center on Tuesday night. The Warriors move to 5-2 overall on the year.

The Warriors ran past the Blue Devils over the final 20 minutes after outscoring Kansas City Kansas 49-32 in the second frame. Five different individuals reached double figures for Indian Hills, led by sophomore Trevion LaBeaux's (Waterloo, IA/Ames) 18 points. Amarion Nimmers (Rock Island, IL/Iowa) added 14 points while Kheni Briggs (Kannapolis, NC/Charleston Southern), Davontae Hall (Chicago, IL/Hyde Park), and TJ Morris (Queens, NY/Northeastern Oklahoma A&M) each tallied 11 in the victory.

LaBeaux, this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week, continued an impressive stretch of play for the Warriors after collecting his fourth double-double of the year with a team-high 13 rebounds. The sophomore forward finished the night 8-11 for the year and is one of just four individuals in the nation currently averaging at least 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game while shooting at least 54.0 percent from the floor.

The Blue Devils stayed in contention through the early goings of the half, pulling within two before another 7-0 run to pull back on top 21-14. A three-point shall from Hall pushed the lead to 24-15 and the Warriors led by as many as 11 before closing out the first half with a 47-39 advantage.

A 13-2 run, sparked by a three-point shot from Nimmers gave Indian Hills a 19-point edge, 60-41 just 4:24 into the second stanza. The Warriors continued to push the tempo at the Hellyer Center, connecting on 60.6 percent of its shots over the final 20 minutes of play.
