WARRIORS SURGE PAST KANKAKEE ON THE ROAD

Kankakee, IL – No. 14 Indian Hills Men's Basketball surged past Kankakee Community College (IL) Wednesday night with an 84-73 victory on the road. The Warriors move to 15-4 overall on the year after winning its third consecutive game.

The win saw sophomore Trevion LaBeaux (Waterloo, IA/Ames) reach the 500-point milestone for his career after scoring 16 points for the Warriors. LaBeaux has now scored in double-digits in each of the team's last three contests, averaging 20.0 points per game during the stretch.

Sophomore David Hermes (Stockholm, Sweden/Central Pointe) powered the offense with a career-high 17 points on the night, including a pair of timely three-point shots. Sophomore Braden Sparks (Villa Rica, GA/Mercer) added 16 points in the win for the Warriors.

Sparks and LaBeaux combined to score 25 points over the final 20 minutes of play as the Warriors broke free from a slim 39-38 advantage at halftime. As a team, the Warriors outscored the Cavaliers 45-35 in the second half to pick up a win over the streaking Cavaliers. Kankakee had previously won six consecutive contests, including a 16-point win over nationally ranked Trion College (IL) on January 17.

Wednesday night's affair marked the end of a four-game road trip for the Warriors as Indian Hills returns to the Hellyer Center Saturday night against Carl Sandburg College (IL) at 7:00 PM.
