OPENING TIP

Indian Hills is back on the hardwood Tuesday night for the team's second consecutive game in Missouri as the Warriors travel to Moberly Area to take on the nationally ranked Greyhounds, the second meeting between the two historic junior college programs this year.

STARTING FIVE

  • Tuesday's matchup will be the Warriors' eighth top-25 matchup of the year and 13th game against a team that has appeared in the national rankings during the season, the most in the NJCAA.
  • Moberly Area has played the second most games against nationally ranked opponents this year - Tuesday night's game will be the 12th of the year for the Greyhounds.
  • The Warriors and Greyhounds both climbed one spot in the latest national rankings, announced Monday afternoon.
  • Sophomore Trevion LaBeaux collected his team-leading ninth double-double of the year in the team's last outing, the most since Chris Payton tallied 14 in 2020-21.
  • Indian Hills, ranked 19th nationally in total rebounds, is one of just three schools to have two players in the top-50 in rebounading average - Trevion LaBeaux (10.3) and Chris Mpaka (8.3).

LAST TIME OUT

The Warriors are coming off a road win at Missouri State - West Plains on February 6, a 73-65 victory at the Civic Center.

  • Davontae Hall poured in a team-high 16 points to go along with three rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals.
  • Trevion LaBeaux went for 15 points and 17 rebounds, the sophomore's 12th double-digit rebounding effort of the year.
  • TJ Morris chipped in 13 points while Amarion Nimmers added 12 points. 
  • Chris Mpaka added 14 rebounds as the Warriors won the battle on the glass, 48-33.

SERIES HISTORY

Following a memorable matchup back in November that saw Braden Sparks bury a buzzer-beater from the corner to knock off the Greyhounds in a nationally ranked matchup, the Warriors own a 44-37 advantage in the all-time matchup between the two clubs.

  • The Warriors dropped the Greyhounds 75-72 on November 11 as part of the Iowa-Missouri Challenge after Sparks beat the buzzer to knock off then-No. 20 Moberly Area.
  • Indian Hills is 16-4 over the last 20 matchups and have won five consecutive games in Moberly.
  • Four out of the last five matchups have been decided by single digits.
  • Tuesday night's matchup will be the sixth consecutive nationally ranked matchup between the two teams that have combined for 49 national tournament appearances and seven national championships.
  • The two teams met for the first time in 1972, an 84-76 win for the Greyhounds.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

Moberly Area is off to a 19-5 start on the year and have won six of its last seven contests. 

  • The Greyhounds are 9-1 against common opponents with the Warriors this year, including a 2-0 record against ICCAC member Southeastern.
  • Sophomore Tekao Carptenter leads three Greyhounds in double-figures with 14.0 points per game on the year while shooting 40.1 percent from three-point range.
  • Four different players are attempting at least three three-point shots a game as Moberly Area ranks 13th nationally with 9.6 three-point shots made per contest.
  • Moberly Area ranks seventh in the nation in opponent's field goal percentage (37.1) and eighth nationally in opponent's three-point field goal percentage (28.0)
  • The Greyhounds are 8-3 at home on the year.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Warriors are back home Thursday night at the Hellyer Center to take on North Central Missouri College at 7:00 PM. Thursday's game was originally scheduled for January 17 but was delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions and schedule adjustments.
