Ottumwa, IA – Freshman guard Tayshawn Bridges (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Academy of Science) has been named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Bridges helped guide the No. 7 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad to three road wins last week as the team moved to 7-3 overall on the year. In the three contests, Bridges averaged 10.6 points per game on 60.0 percent shooting, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals for the Warriors.
The freshman poured in back-to-back season-high efforts in wins at Wabash Valley College (IL) and John A. Logan College (IL) as Bridges went for 13 and 14 points, respectively. Bridges added a season-high nine rebounds against Wabash Valley before adding eight more boards in the win over John A. Logan. Bridges closed out the week with five points, four rebounds, two steals, and a block vs. Shawnee Community College (IL).
Bridges and the Warriors return to action at the Hellyer Center on Tuesday night with a 7:00 PM matchup vs. Iowa Central Community College.
