Ottumwa, IA – Redshirt freshman Amonte Allen-Johnson (Flint, MI/Texas A&M Corpus Christi) of the No.5 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.

Allen-Johnson returned to the lineup after a 20-day layoff due to an injury to spark the Warriors in Levelland, TX. Allen-Johnson produced back-to-back double-digit scoring performances as Indian Hills knocked off South Plains College (TX) 94-88 before closing out the weekend with a 76-62 win over No. 18 Frank Phillips College (TX).

In the two matchups, Allen-Johnson posted shooting percentages of 50.0% from the floor, 50.0% from three-point range, and 83.3 % from the free throw line to pace the offense. Allen-Johnson posted averages of 13.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 4.0 APG, and 1.0 SPG as the Warriors collected its ninth consecutive win.

Allen-Johnson played a key role down the stretch in both contests as the Warriors overcame large deficits to complete a 2-0 weekend at the Texan Classic. The redshirt freshman scored 14 points on 4-6 shooting in the win over South Plains to go along with four assists and three rebounds. Allen-Johnson followed up with 11 points and a season-high seven rebounds along with four assists in the win over Frank Phillips.

The Warriors will host Snow at 7:00 PM on the opening night of the three-day Financial Partners Classic at the Hellyer Center. Indian Hills will also host Kankakee Community College (IL) at 7:00 PM on Saturday night and Lake Region State College (ND) at 1:00 PM on Sunday.
