Dixon, IL – Led by 19 points rom sophomore Trenton Walters (Frisco, TX/Radford), No. 9 Indian Hills Men's Basketball picked up an 80-67 win over Sauk Valley Community College (IL) on the road Tuesday night. The Warriors move to 15-4 overall on the year.
Walters tied a season-high with 19 points to power the offense for the Warriors. Quinton Perkins II (Dallas, TX/Tarleton State) tallied 15 points on a series of three-point shots to contribute to the road win. Tayshawn Bridges (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Academy of Science) chipped in 10 points for his seventh double-digit scoring effort of the year.
Walters kickstarted the night with the first points of the night on a three-point shot from the corner. The Warriors continued to push the pace in the opening half with a double-digit lead before taking a 41-30 advantage into halftime. The Warriors pushed the lead to 24 points midway through the second half and held off a late surge from the Skyhawks to secure their fourth consecutive win.
The Warriors are set to open Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play on Saturday night at the Hellyer Center with a 7:00 PM matchup vs. Marshalltown Community College.
