  • The Warriors climbed to No. 2 in the latest NJCAA and JUCOAdvocate Media polls, announced Monday afternoon.
  • Indian Hills heads into Wednesday night's matchup on a 10-game winning streak, outscoring its opponents by 22.6 points per game during the stretch.
  • The Warriors are forcing 17.5 turnovers per game, the 13th best mark in the nation this year.
  • With Wednesday's matchup vs. Triton, Indian Hills will be playing a team that competed in the previous year's national championship game for the third consecutive season. Dating back to 1965, the Warriors have played 26 games against teams that competed in the previous year's national championship. Indian Hills is 12-14 in those contests.
  • Through six road trips this year, including the 299-mile trek to River Grove, the Warriors have logged 6,534 round trip miles.

LAST TIME OUT

The Warriors are coming off a dominant 85-54 win over Sauk Valley Community College (IL) on February 6, the team's second consecutive win by 30-plus points.

  • Quinton Perkins II tallied a team-high 24 points to lead the Warriors while Joao Das Chagas added his third consecutive double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
  • The Warriors connected on 10 three-point shots, the team's 10th time reaching 10 makes from beyond the arc in a game this year.

SCOUTING THE TROJANS

Triton (19-3), the defending NJCAA DI Men's Basketball National Runner-Up, heads into Wednesday night's affair as one of the hottest teams in the nation, haivng won 14 consecutive contests.

  • The Trojans opened the year with a 5-3 record, but have rattled off 14 consecutive wins, including eight by at least 20 points.
  • Triton boasts a 9-0 record at the Collins Center, outscoring their opponents by an average of 24.3 points per contest.
  • Dayjuan Anderson leads the offense with a team-high 18.4 points per game while Vijay Wallace adds 16.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. 
  • Triton ranks fourth in the nation with 6.6 blocks per game and eighth nationally with just 10.7 turnovers per game.
  • The Trojans are under the direction of second-year head coach Brian Burns.

SERIES HISTORY

One of the most anticipated matchups on the Warrior schedule over the last several years, Indian Hills and Triton will match up for the seventh time in the last four years, and 10th time overall.

  • Wednesday night's matchup between the two rated foes will be the eighth consecutive nationally ranked matchup between the two teams since 2019, including three top-10 battles.
  • Indian Hills is 8-1 all-time vs. the Trojans, including a 2-1 record in River Grove.
  • Three of the Warrior victories over the last six contests, all since 2022, have been decided by three points.

      • Indian Hills secured its third win over a top-10 team to close out the regular season.

      • All-American J'Vonne Hadley hit a corner jumper in the closing seconds to lift Indian Hills to a key non-conference win.

WARRIOR ALUM SPOTLIGHTS

  • Former Indian Hills standout Curtis Jones (2020-21), one of the top player's in the country this year for Iowa State University, has been named to the Jerry West Award Top-10 List. Jones has powered the Cyclones to an impressive season and currently leads the team in scoring with 17.7 points per contest.
  • Forner Warrior Ria'N Holland (2015-16) has made a name for himself in Serbia, comepting in one of the top professional leagues for KK Sloga Societe Generale Kraljevo. In the team's most recent game on February 8, Holland recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds to go along with seven assists in an 86-80 win. On the year, Holland is averaging 16.8 points per game and a team-high 3.9 assists through 17 games. Holland helped lead the Warriors to the NJCAA National Tournament in 2016 while earning NJCAA First-Team All-Region 11 honors before completing his collegiate career at Mercer University.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Warriors' road gauntlet continues with a trek to Burlington, IA to take on Iowa Community College Athletic Confernece (ICCAC) foe Southeastern Community College at 7:00 PM Saturday. The Warriors hold a 1-0 series advantage over the Blackhawks following an 81-57 victory at the Hellyer Center back on January 18. A win on Saturday for the Warriors will clinch the regular season conference championship with the right to host the NJCAA Region 11 Championship at the Hellyer Center on March 8.
