Marshalltown, IA – No. 6 Indian Hills Men's Basketball capped an undefeated Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) campaign with a 95-77 win on the road at Marshalltown Community College on Saturday night. The Warriors improve to 23-5 overall on the year.
The Warriors finished off its conference slate with an unblemished 4-0 mark on the year after Saturday's win over the Tigers. Indian Hills has now recorded three consecutive undefeated regular season marks and 13 overall dating back to the 1992-93 season. With the regular season conference title, the Warriors will host the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Championship at the Hellyer Center on Saturday, March 8 against the winner of Marshalltown and Southeastern Community College.
Leading by just three at the halftime intermission on Saturday, the Warriors strung together a solid second half to pull away from the Tigers for the program's 28th consecutive victory over Marshalltown. The 95 points are the third-most in a contest this year for Indian Hills.
Indian Hills was once again led by Quinton Perkins II (Dallas, TX/Tarleton State), this week's ICCAC Athlete of the Week. Perkins poured in a game-high 23 points for his fourth 20-point contest in the team's last six outings. Sophomore Abdoulaye Fall (Dakar, Senegal/Cloud County) added in 18 points for the Warriors while Amonte Allen-Johnson (Flint, MI/Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) chipped in 16. Sophomore Joao Das Chagas (Niquelândia, Brazil/Arizona Western) aided the offensive attack down the stretch to finish the night with 14 for the Warriors.
Indian Hills will close out its regular season with a home date against No. 4 nationally ranked Triton College (IL) on March 1. Tip-off from the Hellyer Center is set for 7:00 PM.
Originally scheduled to face Highland Community College (IL) on Tuesday, February 25, the Warriors have received a forfeit victory in advance due to the Cougars forfeiting their next two regular season contests.
