Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Jamal Entezami (Berlin, Germany/Hermann-Ehlers Gymnasium) of the No. 3 ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad has been tapped as this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Entezami played a key role in the Warriors' 85-72 victory over No. 3 Triton College (IL) at the Hellyer Center on Saturday. With the win, the Warriors jumped to No. 3 in this week's poll after closing out the regular season with a 25-5 overall record.
In the win over the Trojans, Entezami poured in 10 points, including a pair of clutch three-point shots in the second half to put the game out of reach. Entezami went 3-3 from the field, 2-2 from beyond the arc, and 2-2 at the free throw line.
On the year, Entezami is shooting 64.7 percent from the floor and 73.1 percent from the free throw line while adding 4.8 rebounds per contest.
Entezami becomes the 11th different Warrior to earn ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors this year.
Indian Hills will now head into postseason play with the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Championship game March 8 at the Hellyer Center. The Warriors will take on the winner of Southeastern Community College and Marshalltown who will match up in Burlington on March 5.
