WARRIORS CAPTURE NJCAA REGION 11 TITLE

Ottumwa, IA – The No. 3 ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad ran away with the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Championship with a 72-56 victory over Southeastern Community College at the Hellyer Center on Saturday night.

With the win, the Warriors punch their ticket to the NJCAA North Central District Championship, slated for March 15. The District title game will be hosted by winner of NJCAA Region 13. Indian Hills has now captured 21 NJCAA Region 11 Championships, including back-to-back titles.

The Warriors controlled nearly every facet of the game on Saturday night to knock off the Blackhawks for the third time this season. For the third consecutive game, the Warriors made more than half of their field goal attempts, shooting 51.3 percent from the floor in the win. The Warriors also finished the night 8-16 from three-point range while shooting 80.0 percent from the free throw line, the team's third time this season eclipsing 80.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Trenton Walters (Frisco, TX/Radford) led all scorers with 20 points with an efficient night on the court. Walters went 2-3 from beyond the arc while going 12-13 from the free throw line. Fellow sophomore William Beugre-Kassi (Pontoise, France/Albert Thomas) added 15 points while knocking down three three-point shots. Quinton Perkins II (Dallas, TX/Tarleton State) added 10 in the win for the Warriors.

Indian Hills never trailed on Saturday night, scoring the opening bucket and never looked back. Indian Hills built an early double-digit lead as Beugre-Kassi tallied 12 of his 15 points in the opening half of play, including a late three in the closing seconds to give the Warriors a 34-28 advantage at the intermission.

Walters took over in the second half, scoring 13 of his 20 points to push the lead for the Warriors. Indian Hills led by as many as 17 in the second half to run away with the victory.

Indian Hills has now defeated Southeastern sixth consecutive times.

The Warriors will now await their opponent for the District championship game on March 15. Indian Hills will take on the winner of Dawson Community College (MT) and Williston State College (ND). The two teams will square off for the NJCAA Region 13 Championship on Sunday afternoon.
