3 More Shackleford Goals in IHCC Win

Ottumwa -- Akean Shackleford continued his early-season scoring barrage with three more goals as Indian Hills won a conference match with visiting Northeast (Neb.) CC, 7-1, on Saturday.

All three of Shackleford's goals came in the first 15 minutes, starting the Warriors on the way to their 6th consecutive victory after two losses to start the season. The IHCC freshman has at least one goal in each of the last seven games and an even dozen goals for the season.

After Shackleford gave the Warriors an early cushion, Saliou Kouyate and Dakota Bridge added goals later in the first half as IHCC took a commanding halftime lead. Leandro Oshiro and Rodrigo Pascual provided goals in the second half for Indian Hills before Daniel Isaza spoiled the shutout with a late goal for Northeast.

Joao Brasil assisted on four of the seven Indian Hills goals, including Shackleford's first two scores. Oshiro, Stephen Oduro, Clement Mensah and Kouyate also had assists in the contest.

Gabriel Ivlev played the first half in goal for IHCC and stopped three shots. Ricardo Haro took over as goalkeeper in the second half and had one save. Indian Hills outshot the Hawks, 26-12.

The Warriors put their six-game win streak on the line against Iowa Western in Council Bluffs this Wednesday.
