Overtime Loss for IHCC Men

Ottumwa -- A pair of late goals by Jose Gonzalez allowed Indian Hills to tie their ICCAC match with Iowa Lakes on Saturday, but the Lakers got a game-winning goal from Rian Marques less than a minute into overtime that let Iowa Lakes escape with a 4-3 conference win.

The Warriors battled from behind on the strength of Gonzalez's first two goals of the season only to see Marques tally his second goal of the game to win it.

The Lakers took a 2-0 halftime lead, then the Warriors' Akean Shackleford booted home his 13th goal of the season to get IHCC on the board. Leandro Oshiro and Rodrigo Pascual assisted on Shackleford's score. Following an Iowa Lakes goal by Jack Stonehouse, Gonzalez found the back of net twice in just three minutes to even the score at 3-all. Adam Garner assisted on the first Gonzalez goal and Joao Brasil had the assist on the second.

IHCC goalkeeper Gabriel Ivlev had eight saves.

The Warriors will go to Waterloo to battle Hawkeye CC on Wednesday, looking to avenge an earlier 3-2 loss to the Redtails.
