MARQUES LANDS ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – Pablo Marques' (João Pessoa, Brazil/Colégio Meta) Indian Hills Men's Soccer career has opened up with a strong start following back-to-back hat tricks for the Warriors. Marques' efforts have earned the sophomore Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week recognition.

The Warriors have won two consecutive matches backed up the impressive play of Marques. Through four matches, Marques currently leads all National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Soccer players with six goals and is tied for first nationally with 12 points on the year. As a team, the Warriors are currently tied for third in the nation with 15 total goals on the season.

Marques helped the Warriors go 2-0-0 at the Indian Hills Classic Aug. 27-29. Marques tallied a hat trick in the opening match vs. Bryant & Stratton College (WI) and followed up with another three goals in a 4-0 win vs. John Wood Community College (IL). Marques was credited with one game-winning goal and also scored on a penalty kick attempt vs. John Wood.

Marques and the Warriors return to play Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 PM at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, IA.
