WARRIOR MEN FALL ON SOPHOMORE DAY

Ottumwa, IA – An early lead was not enough for the Indian Hills Men's Soccer team as the Warriors fell at home to Iowa Central Community College 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors drop to 5-6-2 overall and 0-3-1 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play.

Sophomore Pablo Marques (Joao Pessoa, Brazil/Colegio Meta) sparked the Warriors just before halftime with his 10th goal of the season. With under a minute to play before the intermission, Marques put home a loose ball rebound from a Ronaldo Carvalho (Longwood, FL/Carlucci Internacional) shot for the 1-0 advantage.

Iowa Central responded less than two minutes into the second half to tie the game at one-all. At the 56:55 mark, the Tritons took a 2-1 lead after scoring on a rebound from a penalty kick.

In the closing minute of play, the Warriors were awarded a penalty kick of their own but to no avail as Iowa Central stormed down the field to score a final insurance goal.
