Win Streak to 10 as Warriors Sweep Ellsworth

Ottumwa -- The IHCC softball team had a come-from-behind victory and a rout in sweeping a Wednesday doubleheader from Ellsworth CC, the Warriors winning 5-4 and 11-2 to push their winning streak to 10 and up their season record to 22-5.

Indian Hills was down 4-1 after four innings of game one, the lone run coming on an Alexis Westercamp single that drove in Katelyn BanningCheyanne Bergert's two-out RBI single accounted for one of the runs in the 5th when the Warriors cut the deficit to a single run.  They then staged a two-out rally in the bottom of the 6th to take a 5-4 lead and Carlyn Stanley preserved the win with five Ks in two innings of relief work.

Jaylie Reints helped get Indian Hills off to a fast start in the second game, driving in a run in the 1st and then smoking a bases-loaded double to knock in three in the 2nd.  Helaina Johnson's pinch-hit home run in the 3rd added to the advantage and the Warriors ended the game early after scoring two more runs in the 4th.

Indian Hills will host Kirkwood CC in a doubleheader at R.L. Hellyer Field at 1:00 on Friday afternoon.
