Ottumwa, IA – Sophomores Claire Tipton (Unionville, MO/Putnam County) and Sara Reid (Central City, IA/Central City) have swept the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Reid collects her fifth ICCAC DI Softball Pitcher of the Week honor while Tipton secured her first-career ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading Indian Hills to three wins on the diamond last week. As a team, the Warriors have now collected three ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades this year and seven ICCAC Pitcher of the Week awards.

Tipton excelled at the plate for the Warriors as the sophomore extended her season-long hitting streak to 16 games at the end of the week. The sophomore utility player batted .400 at the plate with four extra base hits, including two home runs in a sweep of Southwestern Community College on Sunday. Tipton added nine RBI and eight runs scored.

Tipton powered the Warriors to a sweep over conference foe Southwestern after collecting four hits in the twinbill. The sophomore homered in each game while driving in two runs in each contest.

The sophomore is now batting .338 on the year with five home runs and 26 RBI in 30 contests.

In the circle, Reid picked up two wins while making four appearances for the Warriors. The sophomore tossed four innings without issuing an earned run in a 13-1 victory over North Central Missouri on Thursday before picking up a complete game win over Southwestern on Sunday.

On the week, Reid struck out 15 batters in 15.1 innings of work while issuing just five walks. On the year, Reid owns a 9-6 record and a 2.77 earned run average.

The Warriors are back home at R.L. Hellyer Field on Thursday afternoon for a 2:00 PM doubleheader vs. North Iowa Area Community College.
