RALEY, REID SWEEP ICCAC AWARDS

Ottumwa, IA – Teammates Sara Reid (Central City, IA/Central City) and Peyton Raley (Arvada, CO/Arvada West) swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors after leading Indian Hills Softball to a pair of nationally ranked wins last week.

The duo helped the Warriors split a four-game non-conference series at R.L. Hellyer Field against No. 11 nationally ranked Butler Community College. The Warriors won the opening game of both doubleheaders to give Indian Hills three wins over the ranked Grizzlies this year. Reid was tapped as the ICCAC DI Softball Pitcher of the Week for the sixth time this year while Raley was named the ICCAC DI Softball Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

In the circle, Reid picked up a complete game victory to open up the four-game series with the Grizzlies on Saturday. The sophomore went all seven innings with strikeouts while allowing just two earned runs in the 6-3 win. Reid also worked three innings of scoreless relief in the series finale to tame the Grizzlies with just two hits allowed and four more punchouts.

On the year, Reid improved to 12-6 overall and owns a 2.63 earned run average to go along with 109 strikeouts this year.

Raley paced the offense for the Warriors with a .400 batting average against Butler. The freshman outfielder posted a 3-4 effort in the series finale, tying a career-high for hits in a single game. Raley also posted a 1.000 fielding percentage while holding down centerfield for the Warriors.

The Warriors have now garnered eight ICCAC Pitcher of the Week honors and an additional five ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week awards this year.

Indian Hills returns to action Wednesday afternoon for an ICCAC doubleheader at Marshalltown Community College. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
