Hannah Till Signs with IHCC

Ottumwa -- Hannah Till, who plays for the English soccer team Burnley, has signed a letter of intent to join the Indian Hills women's program. "Hannah has a great variety of defensive attributes," said IHCC coach Stephanie Gale. "She has a talent that many coaches are looking for when looking at a right back -- a player who can join the attack and be part of the danger moving forward. I am very excited to bring this style of play to the IHCC Warriors as it can make us a very dangerous team defensively and attacking."

Till is from Burnley, a small town in Lancashire, just north of Manchester. She has been playing soccer since age eight and has been a part of teams that were unbeaten for five consecutive seasons in both league and cup play and also won a national competition two years.

"I'd consider myself as being a versatile player, happy to play anywhere on defense," Till explained. "I'm incredibly excited to join the Indian Hills team. A major factor in my decision was the enthusiasm and helpfulness of coach Gale and I appreciate the college offering me a great opportunity to develop my learning."

Till said she is anxious to improve her skills and play a style of soccer that she admits is "unknown to me." She is also excited about the chance to discover a new culture and country when she arrives on the IHCC campus in the fall.

Gale said she wanted to bring a player like Till to the program because she does the simple things the right way. "As a defensive player she knows her duties are to protect the keeper and stop the ball from getting into dangerous areas. I believe Hannah will play a vital role in our back line."

Till is the fifth player signed to a letter of intent to play IHCC women's soccer as Gale continues to put together the roster for the 2015 campaign.
