Warriors Stop State Fair, McElmeel Scores Twice

Sedalia, Missouri -- Indian Hills ran its season record to 12-2 with a convincing 7-1 victory at State Fair CC on Sunday. Megan McElmeel had two goals for the Warriors and Hannah Mitchell had one. Those two are having a spirited battle for the team lead in goals. Mitchell's goal gives her 11 for the year, one more than her freshman teammate.

Among the goal scorers for Indian Hills were a pair of freshmen, Allie Schaefer and Tess Schiesl, who each picked up their first of the season. Schaefer and Schiesl scored back-to-back goals in the first half, following scores by McElmeel and Mel Shepherd, allowing IHCC to go on top 4-0 at the half.

Hannah Mitchell and Hannah Till scored in the second half before McElmeel punctuated the Indian Hills victory with her 10th of the fall.

"It was a good win on the road following a tough overtime game on Friday night," said Indian Hills head coach Anthony Longo. "The girls came ready to play and put the game out of reach early. It was nice to see several different players get on the score sheet."

On Thursday, Indian Hills will play its final non-conference match of the season when they take on St. Charles CC at 4:00 at the IHCC field.
