Warriors Slam Scott

Blidchenko

Ottumwa -- Indian Hills got goals from 10 different players and another hat trick from Emily Murphy -- she was the only player with more than one goal -- as the Warriors blasted Scott CC, 12-1, at the IHCC field on Wednesday.

IHCC notched four of the goals in the opening half and then doubled that total after halftime in upping their season record to 7-0.

Murphy started the scoring in the 12th minute off a pass from Julie Gouilliart.  Gouilliart had a second-half goal and four assists.  Murphy added two second-period goals for her 3rd hat trick this season and the 11th of her IHCC career.

Miranda Kurtt, Avery Woldruff and Sierra Dimmel scored goals in a span of around six minutes in the first half.

After taking a 4-0 lead into the break, the Warriors picked up goals from Megan Wick, Alicia Chacon, Gouilliart, Sanne Croes, Veronica Blidchenko and Ashley Polendo -- along with Murphy's two -- in the last half.

It was the first Indian Hills goal for Dimmel, Wick, Chacon, Croes, Blidchenko and Polendo.  Wick and Polendo are sophomores and the other four are freshmen.

In addition to Gouilliart's four assists, Madison L. Meyer had two, and Yui Okamoto, Kurtt, Kiri Chiba, Chacon, Georgia Lindon and Blidchenko each had one.

The goalkeeper duties were split between Elani Mears and Alex Solano.  Mears, playing the first half, didn't make a save; Solano had three in the final 45 minutes.

The Warriors produced season-highs with their 12 goals and 47 shots.

Indian Hills travels to Quincy, Ill., to face John Wood CC on Sunday afternoon at 3:00.
