FOUR WARRIORS SET TO MOVE ON

Ottumwa, IA – The most accomplished sophomore class in Indian Hills Women's Soccer history is sending a quartet of individuals on to the four-year level.

Kylee Brown (Earlham, IA/Winterset-Earlham), Makayla Reed (Waverly, IA/Waverly-Shell Rock), Hope Ward (Burlington, IA/Burlington Notre Dame), and Bailey Wiemann (Burlington, IA/Burlington) have made their decisions regarding the next stop in their careers. The quartet helped Indian Hills win an impressive 29 matches over the last two seasons, a stretch that included the most wins in program history (18) in the fall of 2021 and the program's first-ever National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament in the spring of 2021.

Kylee Brown – Buena Vista University

A two-year member of the Warrior program, Brown appeared in 24 games throughout her tenure in Ottumwa. As a sophomore, Brown, a primary defender, collected one goal and added an assist in a win over Black Hawk (IL) on Sept. 29. As a freshman, Brown was named to the NJCAA All-Academic First-Team for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout the entire year. Brown, a Political Science major, was also a two-time member of the ICCAC All-Academic First-Team and recently earned first-team All-Academic honors for the 2021 fall term.

Brown will head to Buena Vista University, an NCAA DIII program in Storm Lake, IA to play for head coach Benton Frayne.

Makayla Reed – Clarke University

Reed served as a team captain for the Warriors in 2021 and started all 20 contests she appeared in. Reed made 35 of a possible 36 starts during her two-year career at Indian Hills and totaled five goals and eight assists, including 12 points as a sophomore (3g, 6a). Reed is a three-time member of the ICCAC All-Academic team, including first-team honors in the Spring 2021 term.

Reed will compete for Clarke University next season under head coach Josh Printz. The Pride are coming off a 10-8-1 record in 2021 and reached the Heart of America Tournament Quarterfinal round. Clarke's roster features former Warrior Avery Woldruff (2019-21).

Hope Ward – Clarke University

Ward served as a team captain in 2021 and guided one of the most dominant defenses in the nation. Ward started all 34 contests she appeared in on the backline as the Warriors boasted a 0.70 goals against average on the year. Ward also contributed five goals and an assist in 2021. Ward was named to the NJCAA All-Academic First-Team as a freshman for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout the year and has been named to the ICCAC All-Academic First-Team three times at Indian Hills.

Ward, a Burlington, IA native will join Reed at Clarke University for the upcoming 2022 season.

Bailey Wiemann – University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

The first NJCAA First-Team All-American in program history, Wiemann put together one of the most impressive careers for the Warriors. Wiemann was recognized as the ICCAC Player of the Year, an NJCAA All-Region XI First-Team selection, and a five-time recipient of the ICCAC Athlete of the Week. Wiemann wrapped up her career second in program history with 97 points and 36 goals.

Wiemann heads to UW-Green Bay to pair up with former Indian Hills All-American Emily Murphy (2018-19). Under the direction of head coach Julie Grutzner, the Phoenix put together an 8-3-6 record and reached the semifinal round of the Horizon League Championship.
