COGOLI, KROETEN LAND WEEKLY ACCOLADES

Ottumwa, IA – With three wins to boast, the Indian Hills Women's Soccer team added a pair of Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) weekly accolades to its early season resume. Sophomore Dare Kroeten (St. Louis Park, MN/St. Louis Park) and freshman Sara Cogoli (Erbusco, Italy/IIS Luigi Einaudi) were honored by the conference office on Tuesday.

The Warriors, who posted a 3-1-0 record to open its 2022 season through the first two weeks, garnered the ICCAC Division I Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week in Kroeten and the ICCAC Division I Women's Soccer Goalie of the Week in Cogoli.

Kroeten guided the Warrior offense from the forward position with back-to-back game-winning goals in a pair of 1-0 contests for the Warriors. Kroeten scored the lone goal in the second minute of play in a 1-0 win over Wabash Valley College (IL) this past Saturday before putting home the game-winner against No. 20 Motlow State Community College (TN) on Sunday. Kroeten added an assist in a 2-1 double overtime loss to Illinois Central College (IL) at the IHCC Classic.

Cogoli was credited with all three victories in net for the Warriors. The freshman keeper did not allow a goal in 225:00 minutes of action while stopping eight shots. Cogoli was credited with two complete game shutouts – a 1-0 win over Johnson County Community College (KS) on August 19 and a clean sheet with five saves at No. 20 Motlow State. Cogoli also blanked Wabash Valley for 45 minutes of action.

The tandem looks to keep the momentum going for the Warriors with a home match vs. Southeastern Community College at 3:30 PM on Wednesday afternoon.
