SASANUMA NAMED ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Mifumi Sasanuma (Tokyo, Japan/Shutoku) put home two goals last week, including a game-winner to earn the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honor for the Indian Hills Women's Soccer team.

Sasanuma helped lead the Warriors to a pair of wins last week and lift the team's overall record to 8-2-0 on the year. Indian Hills topped North Iowa Area Community College 2-0 before picking up the team's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) opener with a 2-1 victory over Iowa Central Community College.

The sophomore scored the insurance goal to put Indian Hills ahead of NIACC in the first game of the week before securing the eventual game-winner off a corner kick to knock off Iowa Central at home on Saturday.

Sasanuma has tallied four goals on the year along with an assist for a total of nine points, a mark that has already surpassed last year's total for the midfielder.

The Warriors are back in action this weekend at home against Iowa Lakes Community College on Sunday at 3:30 PM.
