Ottumwa -- IHCC volleyball players Iva Popovic and Tamara Merseli were recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association for their work in the classroom during the 2015-16 academic year.

Popovic and Merseli were both given Superior Academic Achievement Awards by the NJCAA for having grade point averages of between 3.80 and 3.99. There are three different award catagories based on GPAs.

The volleyball players are among 27 Indian Hills student-athletes who earned NJCAA academic awards for this past year.
