Warriors Notch 4th Win Over Grizzlies

Grizzlies

Ottumwa -- Indian Hills got their fourth win this season against Missouri State-West Plains on Wednesday night at the Hellyer Center.  But this one wasn't easy.  IHCC had to come from a two-sets-to-one deficit to pull out its 26th win.  The visitors got the Warriors' attention early, winning the first set, 25-17, and outlasting IHCC, 26-24, in the third set.  Indian Hills, after taking set number two, 25-16, won a tense fourth set, 25-22, and then broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth set and went on to win 15-8.

Amanda Toyota's ace serve broke the early set-five deadlock and Indian Hills prevailed with Mariana Rodrigues getting back-to-back kills to set up Nikoleta Kandic's block for match point.

Ana Nunes, who sat out the second set because of illness, came back to provide some offense for the winners -- getting five kills in the fourth set and three more in the fifth.

Indian Hills is 26-3 and returns to action at Hawkeye CC on Monday night.
