Ottumwa -- Eight members of the Indian Hills men's cross country squad were named to the 2019 Fall Academic All-Region team announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference this week.  The first-team selections earned grade point averages of 3.5 or higher during the fall while the second-team picks had GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.

The first-team all-region honorees were Amanda Toyota, Courtney Jarrett, Iva Vranic, Mariana Rodrigues, Nikoleta Kandic, Suzana Andrade and Sydney Kloubec.  Named to the second team were Bailea Yahnke, Gabriela Cavalcante, Natalia Araujo and Thayna Birimba.  It's the second straight year that Toyota, Vranic and Birimba received academic all-region honors.

Indian Hills had a total of 81 academic all-region members in eight different sports.
