WARRIORS DROP A PAIR AT TJC INVITE

Tyler, TX – The No. 11 Indian Hills Volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to nationally ranked opponents on the opening day of the TJC Invite Friday. The Warriors fell to No. 3 Blinn College (TX) and 3-0 to tournament host and No. 8 Tyler Junior College.

The Warriors opened up play Friday winning the first set against Blinn, a 25-19 victory to build momentum early on, but the No. 3 team in the country rallied for three consecutive set wins to take the match. The Buccaneers won 25-23, 25-9, 25-16.

Taking on its third consecutive nationally ranked opponent, the Warriors took on tournament host Tyler for the nightcap. The Warriors battled early on, but the Apaches eventually took the match in straight sets – 25-10, 25-19, 25-23.

The Warriors were powered by sophomore Precious Daley (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) throughout both matches as the middle blocker totaled 24 kills on the day, including 14 against Tyler. Sophomore Hennesys Lalane (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Colegio Luis Munox Rivera) added 55 assists throughout the day to go along with 11 kills and zero attacking errors. Anja Vranic (Belgrade, Serbia/Sports Gymnasium) led the Warriors with 25 total digs on the day.
