NO. 19 WARRIORS SWEEP HAWKEYE, MAKE IT FOUR IN A ROW

Ottumwa, IA – No. 19 Indian Hills Volleyball ran past Hawkeye Community College in straight sets on Saturday, picking up a 3-0 win over the Redtails. Indian Hills moves to 15-7 on the year.

The Warriors remained unbeaten at home this year with a 4-0 mark and have now won 24 of its last 25 matches at the Hellyer Center dating back to the 2021 season. Ind Hills defeated Hawkeye on Saturday by set scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-23.

Indian Hills produced its second-highest attack percentage of the year on Saturday with a .338 clip after connecting on 38 kills in 74 attempts. Sophomore Sara Van Gisteren (Leuth, Netherlands/Young Talent Academy ROC Nijmegen) led the charge with 15 kills for the Warriors.  

Ana Carolina Westerich (Blumenau, Brazil/Colégio Energia) filled the stat sheet for the Warriors with 34 assists, a pair of kills, four digs, a block, and a service ace.

Sophomore Sabrina Nogueira Da Silva (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Campos Salles) led the defense with 13 digs followed by 10 from freshman Asialin Powell (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt).

The Warriors used a well-rounded attack on Saturday to drop the Redtails. Five individuals tallied at least five kills in the match as the Warriors jumped all over Hawkeye from the jump. Indian Hills posted a .400 hitting percentage in the opening set before staking an early 5-0 advantage to open set two. The Warriors used a late rally in set three to secure the sweep, the team's sixth consecutive win over Hawkeye.

Indian Hills is back in action October 11-12 at the Cardinal Classic in Park Hills, MO.
