Sarah Ryder joined the Indian Hills Community College Volleyball program as the Assistant Coach in the summer of 2021. Ryder, an Indian Hills alum, has helped lead the Warriors to new heights during the first three seasons of her tenure.
Ryder has served as the primary assistant under head coach Lyndsey Michel for the past three seasons that includes back-to-back trips to the NJCAA National Tournament as well as consecutive NJCAA Region 11 and NJCAA Midwest District Championships. During Ryder's time at Indian Hills, five individuals have captured All-American honors while setting 11 top-five team records. During Ryder's time at Indian Hills, the Warriors have captured 93 victories along with a 0.776 winning percentage.
A two-year contributor to the Warrior program, Ryder appeared in 75 total matches over the course of her career (2014-16) as the team's primary Libero. Ryder totaled 765 digs overall and 18 service aces. Ryder's stellar play and leadership for the Warriors led to an opportunity with NCAA DII Post College in Waterbury, CT. At Post, Ryder was a mainstay in the starting lineup and appeared in all 63 matches and missed just two sets out of a possible 222. Post advanced to the NCAA Tournament with a 26-6 record in Ryder's first year.
Ryder's coaching career previously included stops at Wilton High School as the assistant varsity and head JV coach. Ryder also coached the Five Stars Volleyball Club in Orlando, FL while working for Hyatt. Most recently, Ryder earned a spot in Hyatt's Management Program in Portland, OR where she also served as a head coach for numerous sports in the Skyhawks Sports program.
Ryder received an Associates degree from Indian Hills and an undergraduate degree in accounting from Post.

"Sarah Ryder had a great career here at Indian Hills. She came from a great high school program under a tremendous high school coach. Sarah earned a scholarship here at Indian Hills and was a part of one of the best teams in program history. Sarah brings a cool and collective demeanor to our program," Michel noted. "When Sarah played at Indian Hills, she was always the one to get us back on track. I'm excited to see her bring that mentality to the team as a coach."
