Pella, IA – Freshman Emily Casterline (Pella, IA/Belvidere) began her collegiate running career with an impressive showing at the Dutch Invite for the Indian Hills Women's Cross Country team. Casterline placed eighth overall for the Warriors Friday night.

Six different Warriors competed Friday night with each runner finishing inside the top-20. Casterline finished with a time of 20:38.1, one of the top times for Indian Hills over the last three seasons. Casterline was joined by fellow freshman Isabelle Mellin (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) with a time of 22:35.6, Alexia McClure (Eldon, IA/Eldon) at 22:35.8, and Monse Chapula (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) at 23:32.1. Morgan Klaus (Bloomfield, IA/Davis County) and Julie Granahan (Corydon, IA/Wayne) rounded out the field for the Warriors.

"On the women's side, Emily Casterline led the way with one of the fastest times our women have ran individually in recent memory," stated head coach Brent Ewing. "I was very pleased with the women and we had a good pack with two and three as well with Isabelle Mellin and Alexia McClure."

The Warriors return to action at the Les Duke Invitational at 11:00 AM on Sept. 11 in Grinnell, IA.
