WARRIORS CLIMB SEVEN SPOTS IN USTFCCCA POLL

USTFCCCA WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY POLL - WEEK 1

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Cross Country team climbed seven spots in the national rankings this week after a strong showing at the Bradley Intercollegiate in Peoria, IL. The Warriors check in at No. 17 in this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll.

The Warriors jumped seven spots from its preseason spot at No. 24 after earning 34 points in this week's ranking. Indian Hills is the third highest ranked team from the Midwest Region following Iowa Western Community College and Iowa Central Community College. The ranking is the highest for the women's cross country program since finishing the 2021 season at No. 15 in the nation.

Four different individuals carried the Warriors at Detweiller Park for the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday, led by Brooke Miller's (Fairfield, IA/Pekin) team-leading pace. The freshman, who was named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Runner of the Week, posted a time of 19:30.40 in the three-mile event. Miller placed 40th overall and finished as the top junior college runner at the meet.

Along with Miller, Amaree Hamilton (Lansing, IL/Hillcrest) placed 48th overall with a time of 20:01.50 for her best performance of the young season. Selket Reid-el (Jacksonville, FL/Raines) and Emily Lord (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) rounded out the strong performances for the Warriors.

Indian Hills returns to action on September 30 at the Dan Huston Invitational in Waverly, IA.
