MILLER, FORD SWEEP ICCAC HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Cross Country programs put together one of its best performances of all-time at its home meet on Friday. The Warriors were rewarded with a pair of Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) weekly accolades.

The Warriors saw a pair of personal best performances from two freshman at Cedar Creek Golf Course to highlight the annual Indian Hills Invitational. Freshmen Brooke Miller (Fairfield, IA/Pekin) of the women's cross country team and Brandon Ford (Perth, Australia/Duncraig) collected the weekly ICCAC DI Cross Country Athlete of the Week awards.

Ford's record-breaking season continued on Friday night as the freshman standout cruised to a course record with a time of 23:40.9, shattering the previous mark by 44 seconds. The time, which was good enough for first-place overall among the field of 75 athletes, was also a new 8k school record which was previously set by Ford earlier this season. The freshman now owns the program's top 8k, 6k, and home course school records.

Ford has now collected three ICCAC DI Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for the Warriors.

Despite missing the team's previous meet, Miller bounced back to produce a dominant performance on Friday night. Miller produced a personal best 5k time of 20:00.6 for a top-10 finish at the Indian Hills Invitational. The freshman has now earned a pair of ICCAC DI Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for Indian Hills.

The Warriors will now set their sights on the upcoming ICCAC DI Cross Country Championships October 27 in Creston, IA.
