Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Athletic Department set a new academic standard with a record 63 selections to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic Team, announced by the national office Monday.

13 Indian Hills Athletic programs were represented across the three NJCAA All-Academic teams, led by 17 members of the Indian Hills Baseball squad. The softball team added 13 recipients while the women's soccer team earned seven selections. The men's soccer team boasted six selections and the volleyball squad earned five honors. The Indian Hills Wrestling team earned eight total selections, including five on the women's side.

To earn NJCAA All-Academic honors, individual student-athletes are awarded first-team status with a 4.0 GPA throughout the academic year. Second-team honorees consist of student-athletes with a GPA of 3.80 to 3.99, while third-team recipients posted a GPA of 3.60-3.79.

The 63 student-athletes selected surpass the 2020-21 academic year that saw 62 individuals earn NJCAA All-Academic honors.

14 student-athletes were named to the first-team, including 10 freshman. A trio of sophomores – Carly Campbell (softball), Daniel Figueroa (baseball), and Brady Millikin (cross country) were named to the first-team for the second consecutive year, completing a two-year career at Indian Hills with a cumulative 4.0 GPA.

In total, seven individuals repeated on the NJCAA All-Academic team from a year ago. Throughout the 2022-23 campaign, eight individuals were named NJCAA All-Americans for their athletic success while earning a spot on the NJCAA All-Academic team.
