WARRIORS HOLD STRONG AT NO. 1 IN COACHES POLL

BUSHNELL/GOLFWEEK NJCAA DI MEN'S COACES

Ottumwa, IA – Following a strong start the 2023 fall season, the Indian Hills Men's Golf team checked in at No. 1 in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Coaches Poll.

The Warriors earned 66 points in the second poll of the year, 10 more than Midland College (TX) who checked in at No. 2 in the poll. Indian Hills received five of the seven first-place votes. Hutchinson Community College (KS), McLennan Community College (TX), and New Mexico Junior College rounded out the top-five teams.

The defending national champions, the Warriors were ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll before posting top-10 finishes in each of the team's first three events this fall. Indian Hills took fourth overall at the prestigious Folds of Honor Challenge in Michigan before placing ninth overall at the Zach Johnson Invitational in Des Moines in a field of four-year programs. The Warriors most recently tied for third overall at the Big O Classic in Nebraska.

Indian Hills has been led by its returning sophomore class, including defending national champion Jose Miguel Ramirez (Maturin, Venezuela/Alejandro De Humboldt) and NJCAA First-Team All-American Gaspar Glaudas (Sainte Tulle, France/Shattuck St-Mary's). The duo has collected a pair of Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors while Glaudas most recently took medalist honors at the Big O Classic, winning the event by five strokes with a 6-under.

Next up for the Warriors is the Throw Down 'Up Top' tournament at the Landmand Golf Club in Homer, NE October 10-11.
