WARRIORS, GLAUDAS TAKE TITLES AT TPC DEERE RUN

Silvis, IL – Backed by three individual top-10 finishes, including Gaspar Glaudas' (Sainte Tulle, France/Shattuck St-Mary's) first-place finish, the No. 4 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf team cruised to the team title at the Western Illinois Intercollegiate on Saturday, winning the eight-team event by 22 strokes.

Competing at TCP Deere Run, home to the annual John Deere Classic, the Warriors shot a 7-over 859 as the lone junior college team in the field. Indian Hills ran away with the title, finishing ahead of No. 2 University of Northern Iowa by 22 strokes. The win is the first team title of the year, and fourth top-three finish for the Warriors.

Glaudas, the No. 1 ranked individual in the nation dominated the field with a remarkable 10-under 203, the only individual to shoot below par. Glaudas posted all three rounds of the two-day event in the 60's, shooting 68-67-68 as the sophomore totaled a tournament-best 14 birdies. Glaudas also posted a 5-under on all Par 5 holes and was 3-under on all Par 3 holes.

Glaudas was joined by teammate Emilio Arellano Lamas (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Instituto Universitario Mexico) who tallied a 4-over 217 to place fifth overall, the freshman's best finish of the year. Arellano Lamas posted round sores of 72-73-72 for his first top-10 finish of his collegiate career.

Jose Carletta (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Rioclaro) placed sixth overall for the Warriors with a 6-over 219. Carletta opened up the tournament with a first round 70 as the sophomore also collected his first top-10 finish of the season.

Jose Miguel Ramirez (Maturin, Venezuela/Alejandro De Humboldt) and Maximilian Morgenstern (Ermatingen, Switzerland/Gymnasium Schloss Gaienhofen) each tied for 15th place overall for the Warriors while sophomore Shinju Aoki (Auckland, New Zealand/Rosmini College) tied for 19th overall.

Glaudas' run through the 2023-24 season continues to be one for the record books at Indian Hills. The top-ranked golfer in the nation this year, Glaudas has now won two events on the year and has placed in the top-10 in each of the team's last six outings, including five top-five finishes. Glaudas has shot below par in each of the last sixth events and has posted 12 rounds in the 60's this year.

The Warriors, ranked No. 4 in the nation in the latest Scoreboard Powered by Clippd National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Poll returns to action April 15-16 at the Highland Meadows Intercollegiate in Sylvania, OH.
