WOMEN CLIMB, MEN HOLD STRONG IN NATIONAL POLL

Ottumwa, IA – Head coach Brent Ewing and his Indian Hills Cross Country programs remain among the nation's best with the release of this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings.

The women's cross country team jumped three spots in the latest rankings to No. 14 after an impressive showing at the team's home meet, the 2021 Indian Hills Invitational on Saturday. The Warriors placed third overall after placing their top-five runners inside the top-17. Freshman Emily Casterline (Pella, IA/Belvidere) led the team with an eighth place finish with a time of 20:37.4.

Indian Hills remains the third-highest ranked team from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). Iowa Western Community College, who took home the team title at the Indian Hills Invitational, is ranked second overall while Iowa Central Community College is ranked third.

The Indian Hills men dropped one spot to No. 11 after finishing second overall at the Indian Hills Invitational on Saturday. The Warriors have now been ranked inside the top-14 in each of the four national rankings this year.

The Warriors placed five runners inside the top-12 at its home meet, led by sophomores Nick O'Connor (Tiffin, IA/Clear Creek Amana), Isaac Bryant (Grinnell, IA/Grinnell-Newburg), and Brady Millikin (Hedrick, IA/Pekin) who finished 7-8-9 to pace the pack.

Next up for both squads is the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Championship in Waterloo, IA on Oct. 29.
