Ottumwa, IA – Following a record-breaking performance, sophomore Brady Millikin (Hedrick, IA/Pekin) has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Millikin, the program's top returner from a year ago, set a blistering pace at the 2022 Dutch Cross Country Invitational in Pella, IA. Millikin set both a personal best and school record with a time of 19:34.5 to place second overall for the Warriors on the 6k course.
Millikin's previous personal best came at the 2021 version of the Dutch Invite while this year's performance was more than one minute faster than his previous record. The sophomore broke the Indian Hills school record that was previously held by former teammate Nick O'Connor who held the standard with a time of 20:17 set on September 3, 2021.
Millikin and the Warriors are back in action this weekend at the 60th running of the Les Duke Invitational hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA.
