NAYLOR, YAO SET RECORDS AT SOONER INVITE

Norman, OK – The Indian Hills Outdoor Women's Track & Field team competed at the Oklahoma Sooner Invitational at the John Jacobs Track Complex over the weekend.

Kayla McCray's (Miami, FL/North Miami) impressive start to the outdoor season continued after strong showings in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. McCray was the top junior college athlete in both events, placing third in the 100m with a mark of 11.78 and 7th in the 200m with a time of 24.78.

The Warriors took three of the top 10 spots in the 400-mter dash as Kahliyah Anderson (Texarkana, TX/Texas) placed third overall with a time of 56.82 followed by Aimaya Drummond's (San Antonio, TX/San Antonio Brennan) 4th place showing with a time of 57.42. Ja'Dashia Catlin (Palm Coast, FL/Matanzas) crossed the line at 59.34 for a 10th-place showing.

Anderson also placed eighth in the 200m run behind McCray with a time of 24.81.

Matay Naylor (Johnston, IA/Johnston) led the Warrior charge in the hurdles once again. For the third consecutive meet, Naylor broke her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles. Naylor broke the record in the prelim round with a time of 14.41 and placed seventh overall in the finals with a time of 14.75, the second-fastest time among junior college athletes.

Siby Yao (Leesburg, VA/Riverside) broke her own school record in the triple jump with a leap of 11.84-meters. Yao, an All-American during the indoor season, currently ranks seventh in the nation now.

Haleigh Hadley (Gilbert, IA/Gilbert) was the top junior college placer in the women's high jump, taking fifth with a mark of 1.60-meters. Hadley has now hit at least 1.60m in 11 of 12 meets this year between the indoor and outdoor seasons.

The Warriors now head to the Iowa Musco Twilight meet in Iowa City on April 23.
