TSHOSA LANDS SECOND STRAIGHT USTFCCCA HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – For the second consecutive week, sophomore Oarabile Tshosa (Gaborone, Botswana/Good Hope) has been named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Female Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon.

Tshosa shattered her own previous 200-meter school record, set just one week ago, at Saturday's Iowa State Holiday Invitational in Ames, IA. Tshosa dashed to a new personal best time of 24.00 to finish atop the leaderboard on Saturday, 0.80 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. The sophomore improved her 200m school record time by 0.26 seconds, set at last week's Washburn Alumni Invitational in Topeka, KS.

After just two meets for the Warriors this year, Tshosa owns two school records – the 200m dash and the 60-meter dash, also set last week in Topeka.

Tshosa becomes the first two-time USTFCCCA National Female Athlete of the Week in school history for the Warriors.

The Warriors return to action after the holiday break with the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, IA.
