TSHOSA NAMED ICCAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Oarabile Tshosa (Gaborone, Botswana/Good Hope) of the Indian Hills Women's Track & Field team has been tapped as the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Female Track Athlete of the Year, announced by the conference office on Friday.

Tshosa made an immediate impact for the Warriors in her inaugural season at Indian Hills. The standout sprinter set two new Indian Hills school records, cementing herself atop the 60-meter and 200-meter dash events. Tshosa ran to a time of 7.41 in the 60m and 24.00 in the 200m.

The sophomore's mark in the 60m is currently the top time among all NJCAA participants this year and ranks 25th all-time in junior college history. Tshosa, who owns the top two 200m dash times in school history, currently ranks sixth in the nation in the 200m dash event.

In her first season at Indian Hills, Tshosa was twice named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week and was recognized as the Indian Hills Hy-Vee Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of December. Tshosa was also named to the 2023 Fall ICCAC Academic All-Region Second-Team for her work in the classroom during the fall term.

Tshosa becomes the first Indian Hills Women's Track & Field student-athlete to garner ICCAC Athlete of the Year honors in either indoor or outdoor season.

The Warriors will close out the indoor portion of their schedule with the upcoming NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships March 1-2 in Gainesville, FL.
