10 WARRIORS EARN ALL-REGION TRACK HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field team collected 10 postseason National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 11 honors after standout performances at the NJCAA Region 11 Indoor Track & Field Championship.

Led by a first-team All-Region performance from the women's 4x400-meter relay squad, the Warriors saw 10 individuals collect postseason accolades, including four individuals who earned multiple All-Region honors.

Along with the All-Region honors, sophomore Oarabile Tshosa (Gaborone, Botswana/Good Hope) was named the 2024 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Female Track Athlete of the Year.

The Warrior quartet of Kenyatta Grate (British, Virgin Islands/Elmore Stout), Nyla Norman (Evansdale, IA/Waterloo East), Zaniya King (Ecorse, MI/River Rouge), and Selket Reid-El (Jacksonville, FL/Raines) took home top honors in the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 4:05.35, finishing more than 20 seconds ahead of the second-place finishers. The group became just the second squad in program history to earn first-team All-Region honors in the event, joining the 2021 team.

Norman was one of four Warriors to earn two postseason honors as the freshman also earned Honorable Mention status in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 58.64 at the Region championship.

Reid-El was named Honorable Mention for her performance in the women's 800-meter run, finishing just behind teammate Amaree Hamilton (Lansing, IL/Hillcrest) who garnered second-team All-Region honors after clocking in with a time of 2:24.06.

Freshman Arriana Johnson (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) was named second-team All-Region 11 in the Pentathlon with a school record 2,891 points. Johnson also earned Honorable Mention in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters.

Joining Johnson on the podium in the high jump event was Destiny Mitchell (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Riverside) who took home second-team All-Region honors with a mark of 1.60 meters. 2024 marked the first season in school history the Warriors took home two All-Region honors in the high jump.

Shanice Cox (Minneapolis, MN/Minneapolis South) brought home second-team All-Region honors in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 24.71 and earned Honorable Mention status in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.67.

Cox was joined by teammate Zekira Snow (Brandon, FL/Bloomingdale) who was named second-team All-Region 11 with a second-place showing in the 60m with a personal best time of 7.60, good enough for fourth in school history.

Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) placed second overall in the women's 60-meter hurdles, nearly breaking her own school record to earn second-team All-Region honors.

The Warriors are set to compete at the 2024 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Gainesville, FL. Action gets underway March 1 from the Alachua County Sports & Events Center and can be seen live via the NJCAA Network.
